GLOBAL ALLIANCE OF INNOVATORS

Drawing a New Blueprint for the Innovation Ecosystem: Global Innovation in China Summer Conference

DATE: 06/08/2025

On August 2, 2025, the Global Innovation in China Exchange Forum was successfully held at the YueSheng International Center in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou. The event was hosted by the Academic Committee of the China Management Science Society and the Digital Economy Committee of the Jiangsu Association for Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Agile Think Tank and Loongrise (Hangzhou) Avionics Co., Ltd.

The conference gathered a distinguished group of innovation experts, business leaders, and academic representatives from the fields of academia, industry, and international organizations. Centered on global innovation trends, China’s practices, and future cooperation, the event facilitated in-depth dialogue and injected fresh momentum into building a vibrant innovation ecosystem and driving industrial upgrading.

Spotlight on Cutting-Edge Innovation:

Experts Share Insights on Future Paradigms

With the theme “Global Innovation in China”, the conference offered a multidimensional dialogue platform through two main sessions: keynote speeches and panel discussions.

During the keynote session, four prominent speakers delivered forward-looking insights:

Prof. Wu Xiaobo, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the China Management Science Society and Dean of the Social Sciences Division at Zhejiang University, delivered a talk titled “The Sixth Innovation Paradigm in the AI Era”. He analyzed how AI is reshaping the logic of innovation. Wu emphasized that digital technologies, such as big data and AI, are fundamentally transforming enterprise innovation from traditional linear “value chains” to dynamic and interconnected “value networks.” He highlighted a core shift: data has now surpassed technology to become the dominant force of innovation, disrupting the traditional combination of capital, technology, and talent. Data is redefining how value is created.

Prof. Chen Jin, Vice President of the China Management Science Society (CMSS) and Deputy Director of the CMSS Academic Committee, Director of the Research Center for Technological Innovation at Tsinghua University, and Chairman of the Global Alliance of Innovators (GAI), spoke on “Innovators in the Age of AI”. He emphasized that generative AI is revolutionizing knowledge acquisition, enabling seamless aggregation and transformation of fragmented knowledge into structured texts. The integration of AGI with human insight and foresight is the future of knowledge management, offering a golden opportunity to merge knowledge management (KM) with knowledge navigation (KN). As intelligent agents multiply, innovators will need to juggle multiple roles, and while AI-generated knowledge remains shallow and low in creativity, deep innovation remains an irreplaceable human strength.

Zhang Xiaodong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Management Science Society, Executive Director of its Academic Committee, Chairman of Agile Think Tank, and Founding Chairman of the Global Alliance of Innovators (GAI), delivered a keynote speech titled “Numanization: Beyond Smart and Digital Transformation.”

In his sharp analysis, Zhang pointed out that many enterprises today fall into the trap of blindly piling on technologies under the banner of “smart and digital transformation,” while neglecting the essence of their core business. He proposed a new paradigm of Numanization—reconstructing industrial logic through data and breaking bottlenecks with integrative and iterative thinking. Zhang emphasized that Numanization will reshape enterprises through models such as integrated numanized enterprises, competitive-cooperative enterprise entities (individuals), and new mechanisms like the business partner model.

Hu Xing, Chairman and CEO of Loongrise Avionics and GAI Council Member, shared practical experience in his speech “Enterprise Innovation Practices”. Drawing from real-world cases at Longxing, he proposed a dual-helix model of “technological anchor + market gravity.” On the technology side, companies must build long-term R&D barriers in bottleneck areas; on the market side, rapid prototyping and feedback (e.g., through airworthiness testing platforms) are key to driving technological iteration. He emphasized: “Innovation is not romanticism in the lab—it’s about finding balance between survival and expansion. Innovation without commercialization is destined to be short-lived.”

Global Wisdom Converges:

Co-Building a Collaborative Innovation Ecosystem

The conference was moderated by Xia Fan, Secretary-General of the Academic Committee of the China Management Science Society , CEO of Agile Think Tank, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Global Alliance of Innovators (GAI).

During the event, the Global Alliance of Innovators (GAI) awarded certificates to its newly appointed China Council Members, further expanding its global innovation network. Since its establishment in 2019, GAI has been committed to connecting global innovation resources. This event in China marks a new phase in its “localization + globalization” strategy.

The forum brought together entrepreneurs from multiple industries—including artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, and modern agriculture—as well as leading experts in innovation and representatives from relevant government research institutions. In-depth discussions centered on key issues such as the ethical challenges arising from breakthroughs in foundation models, the delineation of responsibility in algorithmic decision-making, and innovative pathways for intelligent industrial transformation.

Special sessions were dedicated to sharing practical innovation cases by GAI council members and invited guests. Participants put forward constructive proposals on establishing multi-stakeholder collaborative governance mechanisms and enhancing AI-driven innovation models. The forum served as a vital platform for promoting the application of AI technology and innovation management in enterprises, resulting in a number of consensus-based outcomes with practical guiding value.

Looking Ahead: China’s Innovation to

Lead Global Transformation

This summer conference was not only a vibrant cross-sectoral exchange among innovators and organizations, but also a powerful driver of innovation implementation, technological progress, and social advancement in China and beyond.

Participants also discussed regulatory frameworks and procedures for establishing GAI’s institutional presence in China, underscoring a shared commitment to building a global innovation exchange platform and promoting collaborative use of innovation resources.

Xia Fan, CEO of Agile Think Tank, remarked:“Global innovation has entered an era of symbiosis. China is not just a fertile ground for application scenarios—it is also a source of theoretical breakthroughs. Agile Think Tank looks forward to working with partners across sectors to continuously empower the innovation ecosystem and contribute Chinese solutions to the world. We will continue to deepen international cooperation and exchanges, supporting the long-term advancement of innovation-driven development strategies.”
