The launching ceremony of the Global Alliance of innovators (GAI) and the 2024 Global Innovators Conference were held in the green and modern Berlin from July 31st to August 2nd, with representatives from more than ten countries attending!

On July 31st, the GAI Members' Congress elected the council and the executive committee. Zhang Xiaodong, the founder of the Agile Think Tank in China, Jerome Feldman, the founder of Jeelong in Germany, and Li Yongrong, an advanced manufacturing expert residing in Germany, were re-elected as the first chairperson, the second chairperson and the secretary-general respectively. Professor Chen Jin from Tsinghua University in China was elected as the chairperson of this term. The well-known French scholar Marylise HEBRARD and Chan Kah Chee, the founder of the Institute for Lifelong Learning Holistic in Singapore, were elected as the vice-chairpersons of this term respectively. The executive committee issued advisor appointment letters to innovation masters such as Danah Zohar from the University of Oxford, Eric von Hippe from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Ikujiro Nonaka from Hitotsubashi University. Professor Günther Seliger from the Institute of Tool and Factory Management (IWF) of the Technical University of Berlin, the host country, delivered a speech for the Global Innovators Conference. The three advisors and the elected chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the association made wonderful speeches on innovation-driven development and global cooperation.

Chinese member representatives Li Hongyu, Wang Kun, Wang Qin, Wang Yin, Hu Xing, Xia Fan, Cheng Hongyun, Wang Yanrui, Zhou Jian, Wang Bo, and Tong Xin Yi were elected as council members for this term. Following the ceremony, members visited the "House of the Future" (Futurium) in Germany, as well as the digital technology forum exhibition hosted by the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI), which is supported by the German Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection. Chinese members also engaged in specialized discussions on innovation and the future of smart manufacturing with experts in advanced manufacturing at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK).

On the afternoon of August 2, Secretary-General Li Yongrong arranged for the members to plant an apple tree named the "Global Innovation Tree" in the Innovation Garden located in central Berlin. This symbolizes the enhancement of inclusiveness, cultural exchange, and world peace through innovation, and also signifies the hope that the GAI will nurture innovative enterprises akin to Apple Inc. It also references the story of Newton's insight into gravity under an apple tree, suggesting that the GAI will catalyze the continuous emergence of innovations.

The GAI looks forward to more innovators from around the world joining us, working together to drive sustainable high-quality development through innovation, and co-creating a better future for humanity.
